South Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC) will allow institutions, including charities and universities, to sell crypto donations from the second half of 2025. 

As part of a pilot program, 3,500 corporations and professional investors can open “real-name” crypto accounts in the first half of the year. 

The FSC’s move signals a shift from previous restrictions since 2017, aimed at reducing speculation and money laundering. 

Cryptocurrency exchanges will also be permitted to sell their crypto holdings, including user-generated fees.
